Absence from School
If your child is absent from our school for any reason, please let us know what the problem is. We ask that we be informed of any absences by 9:10am; a short note or telephone call is all that is required. If we have not heard, contact will be made by school. Registers are checked on a regular basis, and if we have any concerns about a child's attendance, we contact the parents to discuss the matter.
We celebrate good attendance, with certificates for pupils with 100% attendance in any term, or over the academic year. We have a class competition throughout the year, and the class with the highest attendance are rewarded with an outing, such as a trip to the cinema, or going bowling. They are joined by any individual who may have attained 100% for the year.
From September 1991 new regulations came into force regarding attendance in schools. Absences are recorded as "Authorised" or "Unauthorised" and have to be reported annually.
